2004 Tournament Seeds
The 2004 Tournament is probably the deepest we have had in Rook Tournament history. Any one of the top 10 teams are capable of winning the championship this year and the balance of the are not far behind and catching up. Best of luck in 2004! Cost is $6 per team.

Odds:2-1 A phone call on the beach late Wednesday night has completely change the whole outlook on the Tournament. They are back out of retirement and at the top of the list. If they don't win a Tournament they are usually runner up

Odds:3-1 A third consecutive championship will make them immortal and even more impossible to live with. We expect them to be playing at the end of the tournament. Somebody needs to bring them back down to earth!

Odds:3-1 15-8 record since 2000 finishing 3rd, 2nd, 5th, and 2nd. They should play their 80th career Rook game this year and make a serious run for the trophy.

Odds:4-1 Had their worst Tournament last year and the big question is can they rebound? Their .714 winning percentage is second best all time. If they win early they can return to championship form.

Odds:7-1 Have been a top five finisher in each of the last four tournaments including a second in 2000 and third last year. Probably the best team that has never won the Tournament. Since this is their lucky 13th Tournament it may be their time to win!

Odds:7-1 Since winning the title in 1999 they have managed two third place finishes (2001 & 2002) but fell off the radar map with a poor showing last year. Can't remember them ever having two bad Tournaments in a row in recent years so look for Kathy & Cindy to make a run this year..

Odds:8-1 Lost in the first round last year and stormed through the losers bracket and finished fourth. Lots of upside on this team and could be the second team in the new generation to win the title

Odds:8-1 A 4th and 5th place finish in recent Tournaments makes this a team to watch out for. They have played consistent in each Tournament and it is just a matter of time for them to make run at the title.

Odds:10-1 The three time champs haven't won an opening game since 1998 and have managed just a 4th place finish in 2000 in recent years. Since their arch rivals (Sally & Phyllis) retired in 1998, they have been a team just going through the motions. With their mom's back in the picture we should see the old Richard & Bob back in action.

Odds:10-1 Last year's 5th place finish was Rosemary & Carlton's best showing since they captured the title in 1997. A solid #10 seed with over fifty games played in fifteen Tournaments

Odds:15-1 Have continued to improve in recent Tournaments. Despite their dismal 5-16 record their #11 seed is attributed to playing longevity. One of these days the light bulb is going to come on.

Odds:25-1 New team with extensive Rook experience. Elizabeth has 11 years of Tournament experience with 14 wins. Karen has played in two Tournaments with husband John. We like this combination and expect them to win some games.

Odds:25-1 New team with 15 Tournament seasons under their belt with a variety of different partners. Richard has played 12 Tournaments with six partners and has a 9-24 record. This might be a good fit for both players.

Odds:25-1 Paula brings alot to the table despite no Tournament experience. Kent's "unorthodox" play has produced five wins in five Tournaments. Could be the sleeper team of the Tournament.

Odds:25-1 Played together in the 2002 Tournament. John has quietly teamed with his children over the years laying a strong foundation for them. Look for them to get their first Tournament victory this year.

Odds:30-1 Kenny has surprisingly produced a 17-20 career Rook record so the counseling has payed off. James won the Children's Tournament last year and will make his first appearance in the Big Show!

Odds:75-1 Julianna had an impressive 2-2 record last year playing with her mom. Brooke makes her Tournament debut. Like most young teams they have lots of potential and a tremendous upside. Just have to wait and see how they do.
