2007 Tournament News

2007 Tournament Participants Will Be Down
Rook Tournanament Director Ken Burton expects a "lower than normal turnout" for the 2007 Tournament as many teams have been split up due to summer obligations. "We will be somewhere around 9-12 teams participation wise if some split teams join together," Burton said. "For the below average player like me it will give us a better chance."
Since 1995 there have been at least 14 teams participate in each Rook Tournament. The most ever to play was twenty one in the 2004 Tournament while just nine played in the 1989 Tournament.

Web Connect In Works With White Family

With the use of technology we are hoping to connect up with Richard & Meiling while they are in Italy. If we are successful we are planning an exhibition round of Rook featuring four time champs Richard & Bob against three time champs Sally & Phyllis. They have played each other fourteen times in Rook Tournament play and is considered the Tournament's bitterest rivalry

Bob

Bob Has Quite The Rook Tournament Resume:

  • Seventeen Tournament Appearances
  • Forty Eight Tournament Wins
  • .632 Winning Percentage
  • Four Time Rook Tournament Champion
  • Ranked #10 on Individual Power Rating List

All with the same Rook Partner - Richard but that partner is in Italy six time zones away.

In 1989 they missed the Tournament but neither players were at the Beach House. This is new territory for both of them. So what will Bob Do?

  • Not Play At All Bob - "I Only Play With Richard Or Not At All!"
  • Bob The Family Guy: Play with one of his children: Kevin (0-0) or Chris (0-2) or Brooke (3-6)
  • Be The Only Person With Five Championships Bob- Find A Compatible Option For Richard: Steve or Scott could fit the bill
  • The Compassionate Bob: Play with a lower tier mediocre level player like a Ken, Kent, or Hap and give them the thrill of a lifetime.
  • Think Outside The Bob -Go Fishing - Tiffany we are not endorsing this one.
